Italian Chocolate Martini

Ingredients
  • 1 oz chilled espresso or chilled strong coffee
  • 1 1⁄2 oz Amaro Averna
  • 1⁄2 oz Kahlúa liqueur
  • espresso beans
Instructions
  1. Chill a cocktail glass.
  2. Brew an espresso shot and quickly chill it over ice, straining it before it is diluted - OR - use a cooled, strong brew of coffee.
  3. Add the amaro and kahlua to a shaker with ice.
  4. Add the chilled espresso or coffee and shake until frothy.
  5. Strain into the chilled glass and float 3 espresso beans on top.
Notes
Since I do not have an espresso machine, I used a strong French pressed brew instead with wonderful results. So, if you are like me and do not own an espresso machine, don't despair. Use a chilled strong brew and enjoy this cocktail... hopefully with someone special!
