Roast Beef Sliders

Here is a quick, tasty lunch or snack, depending on when you want it and how hungry you are! The key to this slider, in my opinion, is the pretzel bun. There is something about roast beef, horseradish, and a pretzel bun that makes my mouth water. Add some cheese and sliced pepperoncini to kick it up a little – like all sandwiches, the sky is the limit. Let’s get to it!

Roast Beef Sliders

Cook time:
Total time:
Serves: 1

Ingredients
  • 2 pretzel slider buns
  • 6 oz deli sliced roast beef
  • 2 tsp horseradish
  • 4 - 5 pepperoncini, sliced thinly
  • 4 tbsp shredded Italian cheese (Mozzarella, Romano, Parmesan, Asiago)
Instructions
  1. Preheat the oven to a low broil setting.
  2. Split the buns and place on a rimmed baking sheet.
  3. Lightly toast the inside of the buns under the broiler to a golden brown, approximately 1 to 2 minutes.
  4. Be certain to watch the buns so they do not burn!
  5. When the buns are toasted, remove and allow to cool slightly before spreading the horseradish across all 4 cut and toasted sides.
  6. Drape roast beef slices and pepperoncini, alternating layers and ending with roast beef.
  7. Sprinkle cheese over the last roast beef layer.
  8. Place onto rimmed baking sheet under the broiler until the cheese is melted and browned, the roast beef will be slightly warm, approximately 2 minutes.
  9. Remove and serve with au jus, if desired.
Notes
This recipe also works well with deli sliced chicken, turkey, ham and/or pastrami. You can add bacon, tomato and lettuce for a different take on a BLT, make a pretzel bun club sandwich, etc.
